Wow.  The ACLJ fights for our rights. Sure was noble for this guy to try to teach a college course on Islam:

Since when did America’s colleges and universities become subject to Islamic authority?Professor Barry Sommer was prepared to teach a winter term class called ”What is Islam?” next month – a full and complete look at Islam … this class was designed to introduce students primarily to the Qur’anand other viewpoints on Islam in a world where terrorism is a constant threat.

Before he could begin teaching, the class was cancelled and Mr. Sommer was fired due to pressure from the terrorism-related group, CAIR – an Islamic organization that the United States has labeled a ”co-conspirator” in a major terrorism case with links to Hamas.

The ACLJ has engaged this serious issue, representing this teacher who has been targeted by a radical terrorism-related group.

Standing Up for Oregon Teacher

It doesn’t make sense.  A teacher at a Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon was scheduled to teach a course on Islam.  Instead of being able to conduct the course, the teacher was fired – given a pink slip for speaking the truth about Islam.

What’s worse.  The terrorism-related group CAIR pressured the school to get rid of the teacher.  That’s right – intimidation from CAIR – an organization that the U.S. government labeled an ‘unindicted co-conspirator’ in a major terrorism case with links to Hamas.

We are now representing the teacher, Barry Sommer, and are in the process of completing a demand letter to the school.  If the school does not rehire our client and reinstate the class, we will take legal action.

This is absurd.  Not only did the school violate the First Amendment free speech rights of our client, it caved in to the bullying tactics employed by CAIR.  This is CAIR’s strategy – intimidate – attack.

We’re not going to let that happen.  We’re standing up for this teacher and his right to teach the course on Islam. It’s important to note that this class was designed to introduce students primarily to the Qur’an and other viewpoints on Islam in a world where terrorism is a constant threat.

The purpose of this course was to provide a basic understanding of Islamic doctrines so that students could make informed decisions based on unbiased and current information.

But that didn’t satisfy CAIR.  They lashed out.  They pressured the school to take the politically-correct route and get rid of the teacher.

This, from a community college where academic freedom, diversity, and acceptance are supposed to be cherished educational values.

The law is clear.  We’re fighting back.  Our demand letter to the school is going out today.  We want you to stand with us and add your name to our Committee standing up for the First Amendment rights of our client and standing up against CAIR.

Add your name here.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas State Board of Education adopted a resolution Friday that seeks to curtail references to Islam in Texas textbooks, as social conservative board members warned of what they describe as a creeping Middle Eastern influence in the nation’s publishing industry.

The board approved the one-page nonbinding resolution, which urges textbook publishers to limit what they print about Islam in world history books, by a 7-5 vote.

Prayer was taken out of public schools decades ago. But as one parent learned in Wellesly, Massachusetts, if students take a field trip to the local mosque, praying to Allah is quite alright.

The organization Americans for Peace and Tolerance just released a mini-documentary about a sixth grade public school field trip to a large mosque, sold to parents as a history lesson, but delivered as much more:

The video was taken inside the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center – Boston’s controversial Saudi-funded mega-mosque – during a Wellesley Middle School social studies trip to the mosque, ostensibly taken to learn about the history of Islam first-hand. Yet the video reveals that the students are being blatantly mis-educated about Islam.

Some of the young boys can be seen prostrating to Allah while shoulder-to-shoulder with Muslim men. However, only male students were given the opportunity to participate — the female students and female chaperons had to watch from a distance:

This evening, the school apologized. “I extend my sincere apologies for the error that occurred and regret the offense it may have caused,” Wellesley School Superintendent Bella Wong said. “It was not the intent for students to be able to participate in any of the religious practices. The fact that any students were allowed to do so in this case was an error.”

Americans for Peace and Tolerance has long opposed the mosque shown in the video (which it says is the largest in the Northeast). When the mosque first opened in 2009, the organizationwrote an op-ed in the Boston Globe accusing the mosque’s leaders of being extremists, linking them to groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood:

The city has helped the Wahhabi clerical establishment — purveyors of the most intolerant religious teachings on the planet — and the Muslim Brotherhood — genesis of all Sunni terrorist organizations — set up shop in the Cradle of Liberty, flying a false flag of moderation.

The Mosque claims that no child was asked to participate, but admits that it did not turn away those who showed interest in participating. “Certainly in our tours we do not invite kids to take part, but if someone wants to come pray and take part, we shouldn’t prevent them,” said Bilal Kaleem, president of the Muslim American Society of Boston.

“It’s more an issue with the school,” he added.

Unbelievable. That is all I can say…

Warning: This contains an obsenity which some may find offensive

Dear Mission Partner and Friend:

We have some rather stunning and almost unbelievable news that we need to report. Late last week, we were attacked and the code of our FFPC website at was completely disabled and destroyed by a radical Muslim hacker.

Let me explain…

You may have heard of Rifqa Bary. (more…)

“If [Muslims] can burn American flags, I can burn the Koran,” he shouted.

This man is free to do it. Why is it a shock to anybody.? I knew someone was going to come around and do what the pastor in Florida ended up not doing.

“Are you worried about the Muslims coming after you? You don’t care? You think they will come after you?” asked a man in the crowd.

Look what Muslims were doing in London! They were burning the American flag!

Pastor Terry Jones rethinks initial plans:

An imam says the leader of a small Florida church told him that he would call off a plan to burn the Quran because it would endanger troops, not because they had a deal to move the location of a mosque planned near ground zero.

Imam Muhammad Musri said late Thursday that he and the Rev. Terry Jones agreed to have a meeting in New York about the location.

When they spoke to the media after the meeting, Musri says Jones “stretched my words” about what was said about the mosque.

WHOOPS. Was there a miss communication?

What do you think the pastor should do? Leave your comment!

First it was Pastor Terry Jones, from a church in Gainesville, Fla., called Dove World Outreach Center, a 50-member Christian church, who set 9/11 as the date to burn Koran books.

Then a radical Muslim activist from the U.K., called on Muslims worldwide to a “burn the stars and strips day” in response to Pastor Jones’ burning the Koran attempt.

Now, one side seems to settle down: (more…)
